A festival of 5 programs of new theatre in a mixed media environment

Founded in January of 2000, the annual SKETCHBOOK Festival has cultivated the work of thousands of artists for over 30,000 audience members in Chicago through a festival of world premiere short plays of seven minutes or less in an event-like atmosphere featuring visual art and music. This year, we have changed the structure of the festival to include pieces of up to 60 minutes spread over 5 separate programs. In this reincarnated version of SKETCHBOOK, we hope to provide a larger platform for artistic growth while continuing to push the structure and form of a contemporary theatre festival.

Collaboraction has assembled a collection of 7 visual artists that are installing their work throughout the 2 spaces.
